This collection of donated materials from the Davenport Kiwanis Club identifies various activities, events and programs as well as membership and financial records. Images and scrapbooks include speakers, members and guests at formal and informal gatherings. The collection dates from 1925-2012 with the bulk of items from the 1950s - 1980s.

Biographical / Historical

The Kiwanis Club Davenport is one part of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one community and one child at a time. The Kiwanis Club of Davenport performs many community service projects in Davenport to help serve children. It has been in existence since 1925.

The collection is arranged into seven series: Minutes, Financial Documents, Membership, Images, Newsletters, Miscellaneous and Scrapbooks. Series are arranged chronologically. Scrapbooks remain intact.

About the Richardson-Sloane Special Collections Center:

The Special Collections Department of the Davenport Public Library was established in 1982. In November of 1999, the newly renovated department opened to better serve its community and was renamed the Richardson-Sloane Special Collections Center. The Center acquires, arranges, describes, preserves, and makes available local history and genealogical materials concentrating on those pertaining to Davenport, Scott County, and Eastern Iowa.
